Black Bear Burger started out small. Stew & Liz got the idea working on ski-seasons in Whistler, Canada. When they came back to the UK and settled back into their ‘real’ jobs (Liz as a burns specialist nurse and Stew as an oil trading analyst), they would sell our burgers at Broadway Market every Saturday.
Black Bear’s popularity quickly grew and they were invited to do residencies and events for Streetfeast and Kerb before they went full time at their first permanent location at Boxpark, Shoreditch.
In December 2019 they opened their first sit-down restaurant in Brixton Village which has an extended menu, alongside local beers and a short cocktail offering.
