This month in Brixton Village: Dan and Pete set up their new shop, a football legend delivered some tasty pies, and the team has been planning a very funky event…
Brixton Street Wear arrives in Granville Arcade
Dan and Pete are certainly no strangers to Brixton Village, having grown up in the area and worked closely with some of our existing Village traders already. These brothers have now landed in Granville Arcade, launching their very first in-person store for Brixton Street Wear.
If you’re not familiar with Brixton Street Wear already, they’re a local streetwear brand that works alongside community organisations and raises funds through their giving back campaigns.
What’s even cooler than their epic clothing is that they’re turning their store into a community hub. Catch work from local artists decorating the interior, a resident Bookstop Brixton shelf plus a reading space, and an open-deck afternoon on Saturdays.
If you ever want to feel like you’re visiting an old friend for a catch-up, stop by and say hi to Dan and Pete in Unit 57.
Ian Wright Visits Fish Wings & Tings
You read that wright (ha, get it?) – on the 1st of March, Arsenal legend Ian Wright paid a visit to Fish, Wings and Tings to celebrate the launch of his new food brand in collaboration with Willy’s Pies, Uncle Wrighty’s.
Not only did he visit, but he set up a pop-up and gave away free pies to anyone who stopped by to say hello.
It’s safe to say it was a delicious afternoon. Cheers Uncle Wrighty!
Brixton Disco Festival Returns
For the sixth year running, the multi-venue disco extravaganza returns! On Saturday the 4th of May (Bank Holiday Weekend) you’ll find an incredible line-up of local artists performing in the Brixton Disco Festival, including Venus Flytraxx, Ella Knight, and Yasmin.
Brixton Village will be one of five venues participating, hosted by the lovely Handson Family from Brixton Village Lates.
Grab your tickets from their website for a groovy time.
