Throughout the month of November, Granville Arcade looked a little different…
In a collaboration between Brixton Village, Round Table Books, and Dark Matter Marketing, we transformed our avenues with eye-catching decals promoting Olympic and World Champion Caster Semenya’s latest autobiography, The Race to Be Myself.
The Race to Be Myself is a powerful account of a woman’s journey to run free – from her rural beginnings running in the dust, to crushing her opponents on the track, to the falsehoods spread about her name, and the many trials she has been forced to endure publicly and privately. This is Caster’s time to set the record straight and share her story of how she became a defiant champion.
The yellow stripe along the avenues led all the way from Fish, Wings and Tings to Round Table Books, where you could pick up a fresh copy of the book.
The highlight of the month was Caster Semenya’s personal visit to Round Table Books on the 8th of November, following an engaging‘In Conversation’ event at Brixton House. Attendees had the opportunity to hear firsthand about Caster’s experiences, pose questions, and even have their copies personally signed by the legendary athlete.
We’re so fortunate to have welcomed Caster Semenya into the Village, where her story resonates with so many from our Brixton community.
